ovary stopped working???

i am 33 and due to a cyst on my left ovary it was taken out.  my doctor also told me since i have had problem periods and didn't plan any more children that he would also take out my uterus.  i am left with right tube and ovary and my cervix.  on top of still having a small period every month, due to some uterus tissue still being on my cervix, i am wondering if my ovary that is left has stop working. i have had a small period every month until 2 months ago.(my surgery was last november) i have started being confused, having night sweats a lot, and some times hot flashes during the day, and really bad mood swings.  basically real bad PMS but it is the wrong time of the month.  has anyone had a partial hysterectomy and their ovary or ovaries stop working and what are some signs to look for that this has happened???

try hysterhangout for more help on post-op hyster. As for the mini periods thats why i had my cervix taken too, i didn't want to risk them post-op. As for the ovary issue.... how long since surgery? i'm 7wks today post-op and having those issues occasionally. It could be if your recently post-op that the ovary is trying to catch up where the other is gone.
