Her iron level has been tested and is acceptable (borderline and managed); she faints from the sheer pain.
Pain comes suddenly (contractions) and she feels her legs go numb and then blacks out. Ibuprofen was not strong enough which is why she was prescribed Apo-mefenamic and needs to take these every 6 hours.
Does she faint because of pain, or does she faint from anemia (or loss of blood), and she also has pain? Has her iron level been tested? Are the pains sudden and acute, or is it just that she gets really painfully crampy overall during her first few days? If the latter, she might try ibuprophen (Advil or Nuprin are the brand names at least in the U.S.) -- it can really relieve the cramping kind of pain to an almost miraculous level, with periods. I'd certainly address the situation as having two possibilities, anemia and pain, with the anemia causing the fainting and the pain coming from the cramping.
