You are right about furthering irritation if you put neosporin on the cuts. I did this and it made things extrememly worse. within a couple of hours of putting on this ointment I had blisters like I burned myself. Very painful. I was doing research and found someone else had done this and also ended up with blistering. I am going to dr. to make sure I have not done too much damage or have other problems. But I suggest not using neosporin..

kimmie - sorry but the HPV virus that is found in non-genital warts (types 1,2) CANNOT transmit the types that cause Exterior gential warts (types 6,11,29,etc) the HPV virus is cell specific. Genital warts can only be transmitted by genital tissue coming in contact with genital tissue!

need2ask - you have lascerations - it is quite common when not enough lubrication; forcefull intercourse; if intercourse occurs duriong an infection the skin on your labia is thinner and more sensitive to abrasion especially when combatiog infections. the lascerations, fissure or small tears will heal naturally on thier own with a few days. wear cotton undies do not wear tight pants or they may become inflammed/infected. do NOT use neosporin or other salves this will only further irritation. pat with a damp wash cloth 3/4 times a day and let it air dry. nature will help you the best.

my pap came back normal - i have a doc's appointment tomorrow - ill ask her to check. im not so keen on using acetic solution since it can highlight other tissues hence mistaking them for genital warts.

it's possible you may have warts. I recently gave birth and about a week after thought something looked strange down there. I was under the impression the clitoris area was "cut" from giving birth, because that's what it looked like to me. As it turns out I do have genital warts. Apparently, 70% of the population has HPV.

i have HPV and the only time i saw a wart it was obvious it was a wart....round, small, and tough. don't be mortified....i gave myself genital warts when i 15. i had a wart on my finger and picked it off, then inserted a tampon....man kids are stupid sometimes. i went for a pap the next day and when the results came back i had cervical changes and HPV....hadn't had sex before so didn't get it that way. dr asked me if i had any warts on my hands....eureka...that is how it got there. i have only had 1 wart to this day...15 yrs later, and all my paps for the last 9 yrs have been normal. sounds like a tear from sex that everytime you have sex it gets irritated. wash the area gently with a soft cloth....no soap...2 times a day for 7 days. pat dry and don't wipe with TP...use wet wipes and pat dry. use antibiotic ointment...don't need much. leave it alone and don't do anything to further irritate it...sex and what not.it should heal with in 3-7 days if left alone. hope this helped.

I don't think genital warts would look like cuts.  I was always under the impression that genital warts looked like any kind of wart but I could be wrong.  I also did not think you would get them on your thigh.  You may want to try a google search at google.com and type genital warts in the search engine and see what it brings up.  If it is on your inner thigh I wonder if it is just friction from your partner between them (sorry to sound so graphic but it was the only way I knew how to put it.)  Good Luck to you and let us know what your dr says.
