period while on the pill

I am 38 and taking Camila BC and have been for a number of year. If taken correctly, I never get my period. I have not missed a pill yet I have had very heavy bleeding for 2 days now. I have a very high stress job as well as at home as a part time care taker to my mother in law. I am wondering if that is the reason. Could it be signs of early menopause?
