period

ok, im knda imbressed to ask this, but im 15 and i got my period for the first time march 29 2009 the da turned 14,  i saythat iswas my b-day gift fromj nature lol, but i amgoin n vacation on the 30 ofjuly wich i this mounth in 3 days and i plan on going swimming, but i dont use tampons i use pads, and i dont feel comfortabletaking to my mom about it, can i sill go swmming even though i maybe still on my period, i get it light most of the time. WAT DOI DO, CAN I STILL GO SWIMMING , PLZ ANSWER

its kool im not scared to use them, id just rather not but thanx 4 the advice anyways  i leave tommorow and i stil have my period so  if i stilhave it im ot gonna go swimming

tampons do not cause disease....people not changing them casues toxic shoch syndrom...same as people not changing their pads can cause toxic shock syndrome

im sorry your mom is telling you tampons cause diseases and is scarrying you.

you just need to change them...the box says it..same as a pad box..your supposed to change them a few times throughout the day

im not going wt my mom imgoing wit my sis she 20 and my mom would yell at me if i ase her if i can use a tampon cus wheni first got mine i was at school and i wasnt prepared so my friendgave me a tampon and i toldmy sis and my sis toldmy mom and my mom got pist at me for using 1 cause she said tampons cause desises

talk to your mom.. she could help you out..wait and see if you actually get your period while your on vacation and you might try a really small tampon who knows

you can go swimming..its just not sanitary and you might leak when you come out of the pool

thanx 4 the advice, cause i remember my sis telling me at i cant go swimming wile on my period whnen i first got it and she didnt tell me y so i wanted to find out more info on it.

you could...but its not the most sanitary thing. tampons arnt really good if your starting out with getting your period and you might find them really umcomfortable. your young and your just getting your period so your periods are not always going to be regular.
