periods on ortho-lo

by punkybear, Dec 12, 2005 12:00AM
I have been on Ortho-lo for about six months.  I usually start my period on the third day of inert pills but last month started on the first day (Sunday) and it was kind of heavy.  This month spotted on the first day then it stopped.  Should I be concerned about this? Last month I had missed a couple pills but this month I took it regularly.

my experience with birth controll, is that your periods may come and go and be different for a while, until your body REALLY gets set in its cycle.  this could expesially be true, if you missed some pills last month.  dont be worried if things are a little off with your period right now.  just keep track like you have been doing, so you get to know your body schedule.     this help?  :)

Were the other periods before on time and normal? Maybe you need a stronger pill. Try not to miss any pills. It just sends your body the wrong message and it can mess up your cycle a bit, plus the effectiveness goes down. I would give it one more month, and if it happens again, call your doctor. Being on the pill, your period should be just about like clock work. Same time, every month. Unless, you don't take the pills as directed.

I agree with the other posters. On birth control pills my period varied. I would be carefull about missing days though.. I got pregnant on Orthotricylen Lo...of course I missed two days that month....So unless you are looking to get pregnant, I would get a wrist watch with an alarm you can set on it ..to beep at the same time every day..to remind you to take the pill.
