please help, chronic vaginal itching (its not std or yeast infection)

i'm 29, korean woman,
i have chronic vaginal itching. but its not std or yeast infection.
i've gone to many doctors and they didnt have a solution for me, .. im so desperate. its been a year with this problem
ive taken so many std tests and also got treated for yeast infection
but my vagina keeps itching forever.

im living in korea, and theres no doctor that knows what's causing this problem,
how sad...
maybe we dont have good doctors in this country.
i really need a solution.. please help, if you had similiar symtoms in the past and got cured..?

ill tell you how this happened,
it happened when i was traveling, i had sex with a man i was seeing at the time without condom(it was my first time without protection, i was stupid....), and i was so scared i would get pregnant, so i washed inside my vagina very deeply. and then next day, i got yeast infection symptoms, (i knew i would get yeast infection, im used to it.. but i didnt wanan get pregnant, so i washed like that at the time..)
anyway, i went to pharmacy there, and i had one big pill , canesten yeast infecton pill, pharmacist said its a big one, so one pill is enough.. so i inserted inside, and i felt less itching next day.. but wasnt all ok,, i came back to korea, in 3 days later, and i bought a new one, that had 7 pills.. and i inserted them.. i wasnt getting better.. and i bought a new set, maybe i bought 5 packs  that had 7 pills inside.. and stil wasnt getting any better.

and 8 months after that.. i went to doctor for the first time to get tested for std.. funny thing is.. there was nothing they found.. not even HPV... i got all tested.. theres no std i got..

but its itching like crazy, itching areas are - the vaginal lips area, and the opening of vagina, and sometimes inside the vagina,
i often have very white thick discharge.(and no bad smell, it has normal smell) i know my discharge is different from normal vaginal discharge, because normal one is very weak colored white discharge.

and vagina sometimes feels sore, and feels very warm.

people keep saying its yeast infection, but i know what yeast infection is like, ive had it many times before, and eachtime i inserted canesten pills i was ok in a week.. and i know its not that..

for my itching, i used all the creams, anti fungal, canesten, canesten plus, they didnt help, but only making it worse.

if its wet , its even more itchy. so i try to keep it dry all the time, but im still itching,

because no doctor is helping me, no doctor knows the cause here, so im only relying on anti-histamine pills so i wont be to much suffering from itchness..

i dont wana live like this, its been like a year now..

please help me.. there's no one that can help me in korea,

this is my first time to asking for help in medical things in english..
so i signed up for it today..

please help me..

this is way late so i dont know if anyone will get an auto e-mail reply.  I have had the same EXACT problem. I live in Korea everythings basically the same as your story.... anxiety and stress as well are the only answers and anti-histamine pills are the only cure, and its been a year since it started. Did you ever find an answer??????

thank you for your reply.. looloo141
actually my lastdoctor told me it must be the mental thing as well..
but i dont have such extreme stress.
and ive never had this kind of itching problem in the past.. its my first time..
also i have discharge.. very white thick,
and the discharge is making my vagina sore as well.
or maybe it feels sore when my vagina gets wet...

my doctor said, theres absolutely no other reason than mental, if it's not std or yeast infection. ..

but i feel its not that.

my mental status is same as always before.
even long ago i was even more stressed but didnt have vaginal itching problem ...

That sounds terrible! I sympathize with you for sure. I had this when I was pregnant and it was only for a couple weeks, 3 at the most and it drove me crazy.
My whole reason was because I was pregnant though and all the hormones and such threw my pH balance off.
For you there could be other things you could try. I would do the things that looloo141 said. I always had to make sure that there weren't harsh perfumes in the body washes I used, I wore cotton undies and slept without undies at night. I would always put a cool cloth on myself to help the itching and sooth everything because it felt so warm at the touch.
NEVER douche or clean yourself out again. That isn't recommended anymore and can only really make things worse. Your vagina is like a self cleaning oven so don't put any soaps or water up in there.
There's something that I've looked into before and something that seems to me might help you is if you look into something like "Greens Plus". It's a supplement you can take to lower the acidity in your body. You want your body to have more of an alkaline balance. Look into it, it could possibly help hun!
I hope it ends soon!

Hello, I sympathise totally with you, if you do a search on here you will find many threads on this subject as a lot of people have been through this.
I have had my own experience with this and it drove me crazy because the doctors couldn't find out what was wrong.
After about a year of going through the same as you, pills, pessaries, creams etc. I saw a different doctor and after a lengthy conversation he came to the conclusion that I was itching down there because of anxiety! I had never heard anything like that but I have Bipolar and at that time I was going through a lot of stress. I was even itching when I was asleep. After seeing the doctor and getting help with my Bipolar the itching got better! Just the fact that I knew what it was seemed to cure it.
The doctor did recommend that I don't use bubble baths and don't put soap directly on the genitals, soapy water rinsed around it is fine, as the vagina cleans it self, the soap changes the pH of the vagina and causes these symptoms. He also said to wear cotton only pants as synthetic and lace can make the itching start again. He told me to wash my underwear seperately to the rest of my clothes and wash them in hot water, to kill any microbes on the gusset of the pants..I have found that wearing cotton pants that have been washed on 60-90 degree wash has been the best thing for me..doing that and keeping my anxiety down has cured the problem for me.
I hope this helps!
