In the early morning several times a week I am woken up by the sound of my heart beat. It almost sounds like my ears are plugged and I am upside down with all the blood rushing to my head. It last for sometimes long periods and sometimes only for a short while. It is to loud for me to sleep. What the heck is causing this.

Do you know if you have any problems with high blood pressure?  Maybe it's time for an annual check-up with your family doc, and take that opportunity to discuss it.  ??  Good luck!

The only thing that I could think of is high blood pressure. My mom has it and she decribed something similar to me right be4 she went to the doctors and they told her that is what it was. R u preggo????

yes, i wanted to ask and see if youre pregnnat too. when i was pregnant, i was experiencing the same problem. my organs was so squeeshed inside me that it was putting pressure on my heart and i too could hear my heart . it was beating way faster than normal. my doctor put me on some kind of a device to check out my heart rate during my average day. he told me that although it was beating too fast, it was beating normally. so he said that it was ok. but i dont knwo what your case is and if youre pregnant or what. i would definately go and see a doctor as soon as possible.

oh and if youre pregnant, you have lots of your blood in your head. more than usual. i know because when i was pregnnat, i was constantly throwing up and everytime i did, my face would get red spots immmidiately . and my doctor said its because you have alot of your body's blood in your head. hmmm. weird. thought i should share that too.

No I am not pregnant. I am 55 years old. I had my Blood pressure  checked and it is fine. I am not overweight, and I exercise regularly.
