pregnancy, fibroid and miscarriage

I had a miscarriage last month. my doctor told me that the reason was a fibroid i had which did not allow the baby develop so i had to under go a d&c. the doctor told me i had to operate on the fibroid before my next pregnancy. My questions are as follows:
1. How long should i wait for the d&c to heal before carrying out an operation on the fibroid?
2. Which fibroid operation will be suitable for me as i want to still go on to have a baby?
3. How long after the fibroid opeartion should i wait to get pregnant?
4. What are the possible risk?

This was a while ago so I dont know if this helps, but I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and doing great with a 14cm fibroid. My fibroid was around 10cm when I found out I was pregnant, but your hormones sometimes make them grow. My doctor suggests me not having it removed until I am finished having kids. I am not sure how this would help, except to say surgery may not be your only option, and that successful pregnancies happen a lot with large fibroids.

Complications I have had because of my fibroid:
1. Bleeding a few time, the last being at 14 weeks. I was first thought to have miscarried but it was determined it wasnt the baby even though it was about a heavy period type bleeding.
2. My boy is on the small end of the scale. Hes in the 16th percentile for weight and height according to the ultrasounds I now get monthly (because you cannot monitor the growth by measurement.
3. Very minor but: I measure like I am having twins, and my skin has many stretch marks and is itchy because my belly seems to grow faster, as there is extra stuff in there.
4. Possibility: I may need to have a C-Section if my fibroid gets in the way of the birth canal, and if the baby is breached (which for me he is not). I am still waiting to confirm that the anticipate me having a normal vaginal delivery.

I hope this helps someone looking. Thanks!
