pregnancy and placenta

by tangirl24, Jun 20, 2007 12:00AM
I recently had a low lying placenta at my 19 week ultrasound. When I went back for a follow up at 22 weeks it had moved up and was ok. Since it has moved up can it still come back down or should it be ok from now on? Any answers would be greatly appreciated:)

The uterus is small at the beginning of the pregnancy, and the placenta relatively large.  So it is not uncommon for the placenta to appear to be near the cervix.  Once it is deemed out of the way, it won't "move" back down.
