pregnancy without menstral cycle

I was on the Depo shot and have been off of it for over a year. I have not had a period in over two years now. I was wondering if it was possible for me to get pregnant without having a menstral cycle. What are my chances?

I received my period when I was 10yrs old lost it at 12yrs old. Git it back at 17. Got pregnant with my daughter at 21yrs old and haven't had my period sense, I am now 30yrs old. When I was 25yrs old I had a healthy  baby boy without having my period. So yes you can get pregnant  without your menstrual cycle.

I did not start my period until it was induced at 17. I had to take bc pills to have one. I stopped taking them and waited. For a year I had it without pills. When I was 19 it went away. I havent had it since. I am 21(tomorrow hehe) and I am pregnant. Though it doesnt show up on a blood or a urine test. I had an ultra sound yesterday and I am about 3 months pregnant. So if I can get pregnant without a period. Anyone can.

Have not had a period in over a year.  Even took Provera and it still did not come on.  Had very light spotting, but that's about it.  However, I recently had unprotected sex and am wondering if I can still get pregnant.  Oh, one more thing, I'm 47 year old.

I have never been on any sort of birthcontrol (cuz I dun believe in it) Im 22 and had a child in oct 07.  I havent had my period for 3 months and now I found out that I'm only barely 3 weeks pregnant.the doctors are not all that great in the military so they cant tell me why.  I do know that I have been having a lot of pains.  but this means that it is possible that you can ovulate without any signs such as a menstral cycle.  even still if you are trying to have a baby you should consult a doctor because no ones body is the same and if you are having irregular periods or none at all there are tests that they can do to see if you are steril or not. they can also help you have children by a certain pill. a change in your diet or significant others diet and even your own weight can determine your fertility weight.  I also learned that depending how many cigerettes you smoke is depending your egg count

I am trying to get pregnant but have not had my cycle for the past 2 months now. My doctor has given me the provera pills that I have to take for 14 days and then I should have a cycle. I would like to know how soon after should I start trying to get pregnant? Any idea's that may increase my chances?

Yes you can get pregnant without getting a period.  My three year old is proof.  I learned it is very dangerous not to get a period.  It can cause cancer and other complications.  I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.  This disorder has many symptoms: insulin resistance, obiecity, infertility, achne, abnormal hair growth, and high blood pressure.  The maind symtom is Lack of Period caused by insulin resistance.  Sometimes woman with this disorder have a thyroid problem also.  I hope this was helpful.

Yes you can get pregnant without having a menstral cycle.  I hadn't had one for 4 months and got pregnant.  I didn't think you could either but my 5 year old proved it wrong.  It isn't too common but it does happen.  The only reason I had a period when I did was because the doctor gave me the pill that makes your body have one.  I am also finding out that it isn't safe to not have periods.  The build up can lead to cancer.  I am currently getting it checked out by a doctor for that.  If you have a thyroid disease it can also cause your body to not have periods. You should have your thyroid checked if you are not having a period.  People who are on any birth control especually the depo shot often do go 1-2 years without having one and can take that same amount of time even if you are having a cycle to get pregnant.  Hope all of my info has helped someone.

Wow I dont know what to say from reading everyones stuff. I have been on the depo shot for a year and three months, i got my shot Feb 8th after i had sugery, and then i was supposed to go back in may and i decided to stay off of it for a while. Well were in July now and no period and i feel like a am pregnant, however, I took a test and it said I wasent but my doctor said that she wants me to come in because I should have had it. I have been off and on the depo shot for many years and this has never happened to me. The last time I took a break from it i got my period right away. I dont know what to do.

Yes you can get pregnant if you are having unprotectyed sex. Just because you have not resumed your normal cycle, does not mean anything. If your body releases an egg during ovulation and there are little swimmers in there, then the egg can get fertilized, and you would not have a period. My friend got pregnant twice this way after getting off of Depo Provera.

No, you pretty much have to be menstrating to ovulate.  When I was on depo, I had to get the doctor to give me a pill called provera (completely different then depo provera) to jump start your period. Good luck to you!!

Hi.. I just had this question kinda answered for me too.. There telling me now without a cycle. Meaning you don't ovulate. So unless you get your period I dont think you can get pregnant. However not everyone is the same. But the told me you can go to the doctor and there is a pill they can give you to jump start your cycle. Maybe ask your doctor if there is anything they can do for you. If you want read the comments they left me the subject is AWKWARD QUESTION. i think I posted it on the 2/5.. There comments might help you out..Good luck
