progesterone

Are progesterone levels hereditary?  My mom had 6 miscarriages.  Now that my husband and I are trying to conceive I am concerned that I may have low progesterone levels and don't want to go through the struggle of miscarriages.  What can I do to find out if I a hormone imbalance that will affect my chances of conceiving and having healthy pregnancies?

You might be able to have your doctor do a workup on the issue.  But even if you find that you have low levels, you need to also ask whether that might cause miscarriages.  From what I remember of my fertility workup, it is still something of an open question whether increasing progesterone will increase the chances of avoiding miscarriage.
