question about high prolactin level

Hi,

I have received my prolactin results, and it is 670 mIU/L. = 31,6 ng/mL (10 months ago it was 283 mIU/L = 13,3 ng/mL)

I would like to ask, if i will need possible medicine for it, or even an MRI exam?

I do not want baby yet. And i have PCOs and IGT for which i take medicine.

thank you for the reply

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
What  you are having is prolactinemia. Hyperprolactinaemia may be caused by either disinhibition (e.g., compression of the pituitary stalk or reduced dopamine levels) or excess production from a prolactinoma (a pituitary gland adenoma tumour). A blood serum prolactin level of 1000–5000 mIU/L could be from either mechanism.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
