question re: ovulation on the pill and brown spotting

i had a post earlier about ovulating on the pill and i am 99% sure i did and i am shocked. there were two ocassions that i took the pill 2-3 hours late but i didnt think much of it. i started the pill on the first day of my period so i was protected 7 days later. my husband and i had full on unprotected sex on day 8 and i believe i ovulated on day 9-10 which seems a little early to me. I had EWM and my cevix was high soft and open. four days after what i think was ovulation i had very minumal brown spotting once. could it have been implantaion or is 4 days to soon? i am sooo confused and i have one more week of the pill to see if i get a period. helppp.

this will be my last post i promise!

I have read (I don't know how true this is) that women actually can ovulate while taking oral contraceptives.  In fact they ovulate about 10% of the time, however, because the pill ALSO makes the uterus hostile to eggs, they never attach to the uterine wall even if they were fertilized.  This kind of scared me when I read it, but I don't know, I'm by no means an expert!

implant bleeding is not brown. I doubt that is what is going on!! if you are getting brown spotting, it means the pill is too low of a dose, and this is breakthrough bleeding, and this does not necessarily mean you are pregnant. I know someone said not to stop these pills midmonth, but you sure can. and then you will know if you are pregnant or not, as your period will come within a few days of you stopping the pill. you could do that, have a bleed, and then start a higher dose like Tricyclen. if not, unfortunately you are going to have to wait it out!!

I wouldnt stop the pill. I would call your dr and ask for a beta mainly or wait it out

implantation usually occurs 7+ days from ovulation and I get ovulation like symptoms on the pill and Im HOPING that they are working even though we mainly use condoms too;o)

implantation 4 days after ovulation is not, i dont think, too soon...
i was also on BCP and i was horrible when taking them and never got pregnant. i was on ortho-low for about 4-5 months, then regular ortho..i tried to take them in the morning when i got up, around 730-ish am...but most often i would forget and i would take them that night, or if i still forgot, id double up the next day...not only does the pill prevent you from ovulating..it makes your uterus hostile to any chance of fertilization...
there WAS one time when i had not taken the pill for an entire week (my prescription ran out and i hadnt had a chance to pick up the new one) i thought i was pregnant..i had all the symptoms, but i was told that if i suspected pregnancy to STOP taking the pill...so i did, 3 days before i would have anyway...i got what i thought was AF on the 3rd day of being off them, but it wasnt like a regular period..very heavy and VERY painful...after that we decided to throw away the pills and see what happens, i got pregnant the second month.

my suggestion to you, if you really think you might be pregnant, is to stop the pill right now, and see what happens...if you get your period, then you know your not pregnant and you can resume taking the pill...if no AF after about 3 days, then take a test or go to the doctor (i ALWAYS got AF on the 3rd day of the placebo pills..might be a little different for you

good luck, i hope you get the outcome you want!

so....you wouldn't ovulate on day 4. I had a similar problem when taking bcp. I was really sensitive to the amount of hormones in the pill, so if i was even an hour late, i would spot bleed.  i've tried 4 different kinds of birth control. my advice is to wait a few months to see if it clears up, or switch to a higher dosage of hormones. im on the nuva ring and that seems to help because you leave the ring inside your vagina and don't have to worry about taking a pill at a certain hour each day.
