Are you breastfeedingBreast-feeding tips Breastfeeding Breastfeeding - resources? If so - very unlikely you're pregnant as it prevents ovulation or something like that... I had a similar scare when I had my baby and went running to my doctor who told me not to worry. Of course, anything is possible, but highly unlikely.
Having said that, it is far too soon for you to be having sex. You need to hold off until everything is healed to avoid getting an infection that will prevent you from having any more children down the road! I believe they say to wait 6 weeks but my memory may be bad.
there is always a chance, a girl on another pregnancy website I go on waited the 6 weeks to have sex and she got pregnant the first time after giving birth. Because you only waited 3 weeks, I would think you aren't pregnant because I think it would take your body longer to ovulate the first time. See how you are feeling and if you don't get a period in a month or so take a test or see your doctor.
mrs.canada is right. You should wait 6 weeks with a vaginal birth and 12 weeks for a c-section. This is important not only to prevent infection, BUT the cervix is still open for that time to heal and go back. You can actually get an air embolus that can go to your lungs! Also, I've seen women whose stitches have been ripped out with sex before the 6 week wait. As for getting pregnant, it is always possible when you have sex. Wait a couple weeks and test. I hope that he didn't pressure you into it because I have had 2 babies and find it very difficult and truthfully unthinkable to have sex that soon. Be honest to him and explain the risks, he probably doesn't know. Congrats on the new baby.
