severe pain during intercorse

I've been with my boyfriend for over three years and about a year ago it started to hurt me really bad when we try and have sex. i've went to the doctor many times and he just tells me its a yeast infection and gives me medicine, i take it and it still hurts. it sort of feels like my muscles are to tense to be able to actually have sex, i try to relax but nothing helps. im really worried about what this could be..... i've had this problem for so long and im worried about what it could be and if it can be cured. please help.

At age 20, I started having horrible pain during intercourse sometimes lasting after. For over 2 years the doctors could not find out what the problem was putting me on and off of diffrent kinds of birth controls. Untill one doctor decided to do a scoope. Bingo I had, endometriosis. The removed it with a laser but it kept coming back i had to have a hysterectomy. The doctors said they cant find endometriosis by doing normal PAP's they have to go in through the belly button to find it. GOOD LUCK hope I helped some.

I agree with Laney8436. I am 24 and was diagnosed with Endometriosis a while back. This condition made sex very uncomfortable and down right painful most of the time. you might get a second opinion from another doctor. Bring Endometriosis up with both Dr.'s.

Hi there,
I too developed painful intercourse, which was one of the reasons I went running to the docs. I had severe endometriosis and got pain on deep penetration. I don't know how old you are as your profile isn't complete. I had developed lots of adhesions from the endo, which I didn't even know I had, and intercourse causes referred pain from everything being suck to my cervix and rectum.
Have you gone to the docs to get this checked? Good luck with all this and keep us posted.
