sex before menstration - after felt very sick

My boyfriend and I had sex - it was kind of rough, but not out of the ordinary.  A few times however, adn it is right before my period I felt very sick.  Allof a sudden I felt a fever, sweating, nausea, I couldnt breathe.  I felt like I had to do a bowel movement and I just felt so sick as if I was in shock or something.  I went into the bathroom and I felt like I was going to faint.  I layed on the floor until I could get up, I felt like I woudl either vomit or go to the bathroom.  At that point, I felt like I should(almost teh feeling of diarrea), do a bowel movement so I did, and I saw that I got my period.  And, not to be gross, but I had "pieces" of tissue from my period as well as a bowel movement.  About 30 min later, I was ok, back to normal.  I had started my period both times I had this feeling, my boyfriend looked it up and it said that one shodl go to the emergency room if this happens, what do you think it could be?
