shortness of breath

The other night I woke up and could not catch my breath. I don't think I was dreaming. I got up and went to my husband and told him that something didn't feel right. He said that I looked pale. So went to the emergency room and they took blood work and chest x-rays and everything came out normal. I still don't feel right, but now I'm wondering if it is my mind working overtime.
Should i go and see a heart doctor?

During the day I feel alright, but sometimes I feel like I can't catch my breath. I do have an appt tomorrow to see the doctor. As far as the Er they just took chest x-rays and put that thing on my finger to make sure I was getting enough oxygen. Part of me thinks that it is my mind making me think I can't catch my breath. I find myself now really watching how i breathe and that probably does not help.

How do you feel during the day?  It could have been many things...a bad dream, panick attack, abnormal heart rhythym, night terror, etc.  Make an appt with your doctor, and get checked out.  If it happens again, it will be documented in your file.  What tests were done in the ER which were heart specific?  Sometimes women's heart symptoms get overlooked or misinterpreted.
