side of incision bleeding 5 weeks after radical hysterectomy

I had a radical hysterectomy 5 weeks ago, everything seems to be going ok, but tonight I see that both sides of the incision are bleeding a little... I picked up the medical"tape" that is still hanging kind of loose over the incision and looked - both sides look like little bright red holes, still, even though the rest of the incision looks almost completely healed, barrely there. Is this normal?

I had the same issue.  As long as it isn't having yellow discharge don't worry about it.  You should be able to take the steral strips off now though and just put a band aid on there with some meds.  One of my incision spots (the bigger one where they took the uterus out) took a bit longer then the other.  Then my other whole was in my belly button so I had no issues.

I'd ask your doctor if this is normal.  It doesn't seem like it should be still going on after 5 weeks.
