smelling viginal discharge like decay meat

please for the pst 3 month  i have a smelling discharge that smell like decay meat and at times like grated yam. this odor is more pronouced after having intetrcourse with my husband. and i do have thick cheesy white discharge especially when i am ovulating. iam  27 year old and iam married. my husband is irritated bythis odor and has stop having sex wth me. he is scared it is  STD .i have treted my self using metronidazole, canesten viginal tablet and cream. i also notice for some month that the ovulation mucus during ovulation is dirty brown.and my menstration flow is dirty brown.i menstrurate for 3days and the forth and fifth day i see dirth brown discharge.iam not feeling any pain at all in my abdomen and i don't have any itching in my viginal.
please i also  want to know why my husband no longer enjoying sex with me. he do enjoy it before but for the past 3 month he has been complaining. iam faithful 2 him and he is the second guy in my life i have slept with ,i have never had never been comfirmed preg. please i need an advice  and is ther any one that it has happen to .
please some one to educate me on how my husband can enjoy sex with me.
please i need an urgent reply.
is it possible to be menstruating normally and still be pregnant.

I think a lot  of womenaautomatically think that it must be an old tampon that'scausing  the bad smell.However in my case it was simply down to the fact that I was to clean . I use to shower inside myself as iwas pparanoid about odours but it was my obsession with being clean that caused the bad odour.women have a good self ccleansing bacteria inside them but iwas continually washing Iit away which then caused BAD bacteria., hence the unpleasant odour...I ended up a 3 week supply of antibiotics. .its difficult not being able to clean myself how I use to but I'd rather smell like lemons now than look like one....hope it helps. ..

I signed up for this website just to reply to this thread. For about 2 weeks I've had nasty brown discharge, watery red discharge and all other dark colors/consistencies in between. The smell was definitely that of death! Had sex this past Saturday eventhough I was still spotting and after 2 showers we couldn't get the smell off of us! I smelled it at work, smelled it in the car, etc...In 2 days it got even worse! I figured since he didn't feel anything, it wasn't a tampon. Got to work today and decided WTH, I'll check anyway. Got some sterile gloves from the First Aid Kit and went to the restroom. Sure enough! A dang tampon was there! It was light brown, sort of shredded on the sides and tearing apart. It was the most horrible thing I've smelled so far. Rotten meat/decaying smell. I couldn't believe it because my boyfriend didn't feel anything. It was lodged right up against the side wall and the pressure I was feeling for days now made sense. Pressure is now gone and I'm not stinking to be damned anymore. So relieved that I didn't die from TSS.

So please, ladies, don't be afraid to squat and check yourself for tampons.

thanks for the answers. it brougth a great relif. i will see a doctor in respect to it. but is there any kind of reason why my menstrural flow is dirty bown and what is the effect of this bacteria. can i treat it at home my self using metronidazole. i don't use tampo at all i use pad instead

jus go to a doctor thats the best option becuz its not every one will have a tampad up there

I started useing summers eve ph balanced soap and that's when the oder started with me. As far as the white discharge goes it could just be build up that didn't come out or from getting off to hard. I never use tampons and I have the same problems. The Brown from periods is just old blood that didn't come out yet.

Im not sure what some of your problem is but I know I've been having problem with my ph balance because of antibiotics for the last 10yrs. Its annoying and embarassing to have to deal with these problems. It becomes detrimental to your mental health as well as relationships because you become so self conscious. For me my mines was a constant source of reoccurring BV do to over use of antibiotics for my teeth. I've gotten that issue cleared up but now I have the rotted neat smell with my period. This is getting to much for me to bare. I wish I could just sew it up or donate it. I'm very self aware of my body when it comes to orders and discharges so I do know its no tampon left in there. I would be terrified of getting Toxic Shock Syndrome to leave one in there for as long as some of you have. You better be glad that it didn't turn into nothing life threatening.

i would just like to say that i also had a foul odour and brown discharge it wasn't until i read this and seen about the tampon thing, it turned out that i inserted a tampon on Tues and had sex that night and also the next morning and then again on Friday and Saturday not knowing i left the tampon in for 5days.So you can imagine how foul smelling i was,after sex my husband said to me why does your vagina smell sooo bad.I felt embarrassed and humiliated.But when i read this i had to go see for myself,and yes i put my 3fingers up my vagina and sure enough i pulled it out.What a relief to know that's all it wasThank God.sincerely Sandy Kusi

Ohh my gosh I'm having the exact symptoms at this very moment.it's awful I'm so uncomfortable with myself , Sex has been Something I definitely don't consider my husband is very much honest and it is "Sooo embarrassing". I just want to hide from everyone I've had a regular check up " All is always Negative " . I have tried using tampons , But I have never been comfortable with them so for the most part I've usually used pads this is such a terrible experience ladies.

Maybe you have a forgoten tampon inside of you go to the doctor of try to find it with your clean fingers, it happened to me and it could be dangerous, good luck. If you know what happened now please let me know how you are now

If you have not gotten this problem solved by now. If you're using tampons. Maybe the tampon is stuck and you should seek your ob/gynecologist.

I seriously want to thank every person that commented on here and the girl who made this post. I was having the same symptoms and could not figure out what was wrong with me. I have had bacterial infections before and I knew that wasn't it.. I treated myself for it anyway but then I searched the actual smell and read all your comments then I started looking for a tampon and that's what it was!! Omg thank you girls so much. I am so glad I didn't get tss.

I have dealt with this same odor for over a week now, I have looked up the odor several times and I thought I had something seriously wrong, and I work from home with my soon to be husband so I was starting to be suspicious of any time he went to the gas station or anything cuz I know I've been faithful. Tonight, I included the word rotting in the description in my search and read all the answers of old tampons in there, I thought no way. But I decided to check, I have small fingers too and wasn't feeling anything, so I started pushing as I was checking and sure enough I felt something, omg, I almost couldn't believe it. I had a tampon in there. It was awful smelling like the smell I was dealing with. I don't know how he didn't feel it during sex cuz he is a larger man, and the smell was beyond embarrassing but I couldn't take avoiding it any longer and of course the smell after was unbearable, but now it's hopefully going to be gone. Thank you all for the answers to the original question, seems many of us got the answer we needed and it happens fairly frequent to all types of us.

I had the same thing had a pelvic exam doc found nothing. Had all kinds of tests..pregnancy..std..bacteria infection. Everything came back negative. Went back in for another pelvic exam doc found an old tampon lodged way up there behind my pubic bone. I couldnt believe it..That was the smell.

I'm 20 and I'm really paranoid Ive got a tampon inside me still from what people have been saying.. I've been having awful smelling discharge and dark blood this period and last but there wasn't a smell between periods..? I have a partner but haven't been sexually active for a few months for other medical reasons. Ive tried reaching inside but can;t find anything and now I'm scared its something more sinister or has disintegrated as is the second month its been smelly. I have really small hands so couldn't reach my cervix so not sure if theres a chance its still up there. i am so so scared and its the weekend so can't go to see a doctor. Please please help.

OMG!!!I was doing the research on smelly discharge because it was not normal for me and i was about to have a friggin heart attack. I sat here and read all of your comments and I didnt think that was my situation because I always sit on the toilet and push blood clots out, so I figured that anything else would just come out . The past few days my blood from my period was brownish-red and smelly and not really coming out until i pushed some. Well, I read this info went to sleep, woke up the next morning went to the bathroom, urinated and pushed little, and i felt something more than the normal blood clots that i have. I looked in the toilet and saw a thick brownish-red mass, intertwined with the blood clot.I looked at it good and noticed that YES, IT'S A DAMN TAMPON!!! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IT WAS THERE, BUT IT WAS REALLY STINKY!!! DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES BEFORE IT STARTS TO SMELL AND GET BROWNISH-RED. I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IT WAS THERE SINCE LAST MONTH. I THINK I WOULD HAVE NOTICED A SMELL SINCE LAST MONTH IF IT WAS THERE SINCE THEN. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!!! THANKS YOU GUYS!

Wow you  never smelled  anything  because  I  smell and dug in there can't feel nothing  I dont  want to  go to the  doctor  if  it's a damn tampon  I can get out at home, but the left side of my uhuu is a little swollen  like something pushing  down

Ladies my best friend was having the same problem with the white thick discharge, turned out that she had a yeast infection, she took a diflucan to treat the yeast and she also started taking probiotic acidophilus tablets, what this does is adjust the ph level in your system. Try it

White discharge is normal and varies during your menstrual cycle. It can be present at any time. If the discharge does not itch, it should be nothing to worry about. If the discharge itches, it thick and cottage cheese like, you may have a yeast infection. Just to be sure, go to the OBGYN. You know your body and if something is not right, you know it.

HELPPP! Hello I am a 22 year old girl with a steady boyfriend and for the past two week ive been having a strong strong odor coming from my vagina especially during and after sex.(its not a fishy odors i cant really describe it but if showered and showered and its just not normal) I have never had any type of problem with odors so I am concerned! Also while having intercourse there is a brownish watery discharge that keeps coming out every time, i have only experienced maybe while having sex the last day of my period but its been two weeks since ive had it. I recently changed my birth control from yaz to ovcon and had a pap test where everything came out normal. Someone please tell me whats wrong and why this odor is still here!????
