sooo embarassing!

I have a question that I won't dare go to the doc and ask. ever since I had my kids i have had acne on my butt. I'm glad I am married and my husband never says anything about it, but it still bothers me. I shower everyday and eat ok. I don't even have acne on my face. so, what in the world causes it? And most importand how do I get rid of it? they are just like pimples , no certain spots like a rash or anything . just all over and around to the inside of my legs. Any one with info please let me know. I have used abtibacterial soap, but maybe there is something else.

It probally is just acne. The only reason I said to go to your doctor is b/c I to had this problem and thought is was just acne, but it just kept getting worse so I went to my doctor- he sent me to a dermatologist and was dx with a skin infection due to an allergic reaction and had to take 6weeks of antibotic and use a special facewash and cream to clear it up.

The last two post sound right to me.  You don't want to overdry your skin but you also don't want to overload it with moisture.  The idea of a loofah or an exfoliating glove is a great idea to remove dead skin cells and to bring fresher skin to the surface.  Doing this alone with already help to smooth out the skin.  I have used the Neutrogena body wash for acne prone skin and it worked for me too (and you're right, it's pretty inexpensive).  Make sure to use a moisturizer on the area after washing it though (a light, oil-free one) because when you allow the skin to overdry (which it will if you are exfoliating and using a product with salicylic acid) your skin produces more oil to hydrate itself which can end up clogging your pores and creating more acne.  The suggestion of a moisturizer with benzoyl peroxide is a good one because it will moisturize while still treating the acne.  And don't be ashamed of this!  There isn't one woman who hasn't had blemishes or skin imperfections in "unspeakable" places ;)  So don't worry about it and it it doesn't clear up, don't hesitate to take the problem to your doctor.   They've seen and heard many things you wouldn't even dream of!  Good luck!

I've had the same problem... a little more on my back though. I find that Neutrogena Body Clear body wash helps me. I bought some of those exfoliating shower gloves and I use that about 2-3 times a week on the areas, with the body wash. The rest of the time I just use the body wash on a loofah. I've seen quite an improvement, plus  it's inexpensive. Hope that helps!

I don't think cocoa butter is a good remedy for acne anywhere on the body, simply  because it does contain oil.

During your shower, use a cleanser that contains salicylic or glycolic acid, and a loofah. Once you've dried off, apply a topical product that contains benzoyl peroxide to the areas on the back that are affected by acne and be sure to allow the product to fully absorb into the skin.

I found the above information on an acne website. If that doesn't work, please see a dermatologist. Don't be embarrassed about it.

100% Cocoa Butter by Palmers( It smells like melted chocolate)..does the trick everytime, also good for stretch marks and other blemishes I would not recommend putting it on your face though because it is very oily.

Good Luck
