spotting in early pregnancy

spotting in early pregnancy

Hi all- i am 5-6 weeks pregnant. After intercourse, or strenuous exercise I have noticed some spotting. it is not heavy, and i wouldn't consider it even bloody, just pinkish. And really light. The Dr didn't seem to concerned with it, but just thought i would ask since i have a history of early pregnancy loss. also i have noticed a lot of pain that feels like stretching already which i don't remember having in my last successful pregnancy which was five years ago. Last night i was having enough pain it was difficult to keep up with my daughter at the mall. i'm scheduled for ultrasound in a week and a half. they said my hcg levels were great, and progesterone levels were good, so I shouldn't worry, but i still do

Spotting after intercourse is can ne normal. But, I wouldnt recommend sternous exercise. you need to make sure that little peanut implants firmly onto the uterus. light-moderate exercise is ok but dont over do it. if youve been bleeding after the excercise that should have been your first clue to SLOW down! hope all goes well.

I agree, watch the strenuous exercise right now, this is an important time in fetal development and overheating can cause serious issues.

While I didn't have it with my first, while pg with my second child I did have spotting after intercourse and pelvic exams. As long as the bleeding isn't moderate to heavy and/or accompanied by cramps, it could be normal.

Good luck!

You should report the pain to your doctor and try to slow down with the exercise and trips to the mall until you have your appt. next week, just to be on the safe side. I know it is hard to break the routine you have probably come to really enjoy and depend on, but given the fact that you are spotting, having pain, and have a history of m/c, your body is trying to tell you something.
Oh and maybe take it easy with intercourse too. Just until the doc has seen you. There are "other" ways to, well, you know, but I would at least tell him to be very gentle.
Wishing all the best for you!

I have had a regular exercise routine for years. but I recently found out I was pregnant about 6 weeks and I started to have brown discharge and my dr. told me to slow way down on the exercise routine!  I am willing to do anything to carry this baby!  So I try to keep my heart ratein the 125-135 range!  it is kinda hard for me because I'm used to it being much higher during my workouts but i still feel great when I'm done!
