May I ask how old your daughter is?  Also is she overweight?  Hows long has this been going on?  Does she have an allergies?  Is she on any medications?  Is she pregnant? (I see your age is 16, so I am assuming the answer would be no).

If you are unsure whether the Doctor was thorough or not, perhaps you could get a second opinion.

Flip flops are not the best support for feet and one needs to be careful about catching them on something.  I fell in my basement on the cement floor when my flip flops caught on a portfolio folder.

All sorts of factors can contribute to swelling.

Is she in pain with the swelling?
