tailbone, right buttock ,right leg discomfort

by teriboo, Jun 25, 2006 12:00AM
I am a 40 year old female.  I have two children. I have been having discomfort in my tailbone, right buttock and right leg down to my knee.  Any suggestions why this is happening?  It has been on-going for months.  I usually feel the discomfort in the middle of the night when I wake up to use the bathroom  to urinate and I have to lie in bed for a moment to get up the nerve to actually move because these areas are achey (achy)/stiff.  The dr. took an x-ray a few weeks ago of my entire right hip area and said everything was fine.  I had a lump of fat (which my Dr I use to have before I moved thought was a hyernia on my right side and when he got inside to remove it fouind it was just a lump of fat)removed and that came out okay.  I was feeling this same type of discomfort in my right hip area only months after the surgery and the Dr. indicated the fat was rather large and it was squeeshing things inside that are now (at that time) trying to move back in place. That was three years ago and I am feeling this discomfort more recently now in the past few months. I am 30 pds overweight and don't exercise much.  I run a daycare out of my home with older kids.  Sometimes I have a few toddlers and need to pick them up and when I do I can feel it in the tailbone.  I also don't sit much. I am on the go 13 hours a day running my daycare. As I am sitting here writing this now, I can feel the discomfort in my tailbone. I had a papsmear (if it helps to know this) last Oct and that one and all prior have been fine. Any suggestions?

Have you ever gone to a Chiropractor?  It couldn't hurt, anyway... maybe you have something out of place.

It couldn't hurt to try a chiropractor. Thanks! I just wonder why the Dr wouldn't suggest it instead of just saying we found nothing and I have to live with this discomfort.

I don't know why, but most Dr.s have a major problem with Chiropractors (they have yet to see them as "real" Dr.s - aside from the intense and extensive medical schooling they have to go through)... I have yet to hear of any that would actually SUGGEST to go to one! LOL

Hopefully, that sentiment is gradually changing.

Good luck!

Chiropractor could not find anything. His only suggestion was it could possibly have to do with I am overweight by approx 25 pds.  Any other suggestions/input would be appreciated.  Thank you.
