In June of this year, a full pop can rolled off a table and hit my big toe. It hurt a lot at the time
but I did not notice a problem. In Oct, I noticed that the skin under the edge of my toenail looked bruised.
It has progressed to form a small triangle. No redness is noted on the skin around the nail. Lately it is very sore, especially after wearing regular shoes. The foot doctor told me it looks like
blood under the nail and gave me a fungal cream to use. She also mentioned malignant melanoma. How
frequently does melanoma occur under a toe nail?
