trich help

I was given metro gel for bv before my trich test came back positive.  My Dr told me to take the gel for 5 dys, my partner did not need to be treated and this would kill the infection.  Yeah, ok..I'm 35, I told my partner to get treated and asked for pills also becuz the gel is not effective, I've read. He was treated and now I have 20 500mg pills?? Instructions say take 1 2xs a day..kot sure if he gave me extras but Can I take 4 at once and be satisfied that I'm cured.  I have had no symptoms at all besides the fishy smell esp  after intercourse which is why I thought I had bv in the first place which went away after the gel. Thanks

For starts.....you definitely SHOULDN'T be having sex until this is COMPLETELY gone.  

The physician was pretty much an idiot for saying your partner didn't need to be treated and for giving a Rx. for Metro gel.  

DO NOT TAKE 4 PILLS AT ONCE......ABSOLUTELY NOT.  This is dosed the way it is for a reason.
