trying to concieve(conceive) after mirena removal.

So me and my husband are trying to concieve (conceive) our first baby. I had the mirena IUD inserted October 2011 and then removed January 2012.  So I only had it for 3 months and decided to take it out because I had cramping almost everyday. After my removal, I did not get my period until March 29 2012 and up to this day I still have it (4/23/2012). I have been getting heavy bleeding with blood clot and fresh blood. Since my removal of the IUD i also have been having unprotected intercourse and have had no luck in conceiving.  I would ilke to know if its normal.
