If it goes away after a bowel movement, it sounds like the knots are made up of stool. I think it would be a good idea to see a gynecologist about your ectopic pregnancy concerns so they can explain how it happens and what the signs and symptoms are. It doesn't sound, to me, like you have one. I don't think a swelling from that could come and go, and I don't think that it's typically something a woman can feel with her hands. I can see why you get so scared, since you had a miscarriage. I'm so sorry that happened to you. A gynecologist could tell you what he/she thinks you should do if you think that you're pregnant or your period is late so you don't have to try to figure it out. It's hard being a woman, sometimes!

oh no, it doesnt scare me actually. i was having issues going to the bathroom and i was in there and hour till finally i pooped.. and the knot went away.. unfortuatly it has returned.. and i was cramping so bad the other day i thought i was gonna have to go to the er for ectopic pregnancy because i also started my period.. but all of my test i am taking say negitive that im pregnant. thats what im scared about the most being pregnant and its in my tubes.. but if my test say negitvie then it should be negitive then.. im assuming.. i have one son already and i had another but unfortunatley i lost it.. but they have both implanted in the correct spot.. so i scare myself to death literally sometimes. i always think the worst case ..  it scared me tho so.. but im on my period now and the knot has returned could it be something like an ectopic pregnancy? i took a test yesterday while im still on my period and its negitive but i forget febuary is a shorter month so i started later than normal on the 1st of march!

If you've been constipated at the times when you've felt knot/swelling, that could be the cause-- especially if the knot/swelling is on the left side of your pelvis or lower abdomen. It's important to see a doctor if this seems like the problem, rather than self-prescribe medications and dietary changes in an attempt to relieve what may appear to be simple constipation. The doctor may suggest some basic treatments, but it's important to do it under their guidance since not all treatments are safe for all types of constipation. Doctors don't always have enough information (or take digestive problems seriously enough) to give you the proper treatment, so always contact the doctor with questions if you have concerns. Constipation is rarely a serious problem, but it Can be. It can cause complete or partial intestinal blockages, which require careful treatment (possibly surgery) in order to avoid complications.

If a person with constipation discovers that pushing while feeling the need to have a bowel movement does not soon result in one-- especially if they can feel a stool outside the rectum or feel a stool pressing down around and on the rectum-- there may be a fecal impaction. These can cause mild to severe pain in that area while pushing, sitting, walking, or all the time; the pain may be severe enough to cause actual fainting. it's very, very important to seek a doctor's in the case of fecal impaction.

The person absolutely shouldn't keep trying to push because that could make it worse, if the intestines push more stool down on top of it or the tissue in that area is damaged. Pain in that area which is associated with constipation is likely to be hemorrhoids, and a doctor should be consulted for that, too, for treatment and to prevent it from becoming worse or leading to complications.

They also definitely Should Not take any medications or try any methods intended to treat constipation Except under the advice and direction of a doctor. If there's a possible impaction, take previously prescribed medications for constipation Only After speaking with a doctor about the possible impaction. A doctor may need to manually remove the impaction. I know, it sounds disgusting and awful-- but it can be avoided by seeking treatment for constipation early on.

While constipation a common cause of the symptoms you describe, there are many more possibilities than constipation for the pain and the knot/swelling and a slight possibility of something serious that a doctor has to treat, so a doctor's examination really is needed. Lack of fiber or sufficient water can cause constipation, but so can a number of digestive problems which should be diagnosed and treated even aside from the constipation.

You're likely not experiencing anything serious, so I hope all the information doesn't scare you! I've just learned that digestive problems which seem minor can be major, so just in case, I hope you have a good doctor who can help!
