vaginal bleeding

I was having sex with my boyfriend a few days ago and I started bleeding.  I assumed it was my period since I am due soon anyways.  However, turns out it only bled a little and it wasn't my period but now an unusual peice of skin is now hanging from my vagina where it doen't belong and I have no idea what this could be.  Could I have torn something?

What do you mean by "piece of skin" hanging down... internally, or externally? If you mean there is a thread-like skin hanging inside your vagina, you may have had a cervical polyp that ruptured. At any rate, do get it looked at...

Bleeding right after sex is indicative of an STD.  The extra piece of skin that wasn't there before is unusual.  For both issues, you definitely need to see a doctor.  You certainly don't need to go to the ER but call the doc today for an appt.

Good luck!
