vaginal swelling

im a 16 yr old girl and i have recently been having problems with my vaginal area. Its been about 3 days that i have been experiencing severe itching around the inner part of my vagina and some minor swelling of the lips. At first it started off with just severe itching then progressed into swelling of my left inner lip. I used some vagisil anit-itch cream and found it to relieve some of the itching but still had no real affect. Im not sure what i should do. I want to go see a doctor but im afraid of my mother finding out that i am sexually active and if that may be the cause of what i am expieriencing. Please if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.

You really do need to see a gynocoloist as soon as possible, you very well could have an infection, if so, it will only get worse without anitbiotics.

Hello, I am no doctor but it kinda sounds like you have a STD. You really need to be seen so you can get the right treatment for what kind you have. You do not have to take your Mother in the town you live in you should have a Clinic that you can go to and make your own appt. But don't take this into your own hands. And trust me this happens all the time so don't be embarrassed. But something need's to be done.

Sounds like you might have contracted an STD, I recommend seeing a doctor.  You can go to free clinics and also Planned Parenthood, they will not tell your parents & will take care of you and get you the help you need. Don't wait too long, it's good you noticed these signs early on. Try to find out what's going on before it gets worse and leads to permanent damage. Like chlamydia, herpes or gonorrhea can leave you infertile and possibly other permanent symptoms if left untreated too long. Best of luck may you be healthy and safe. *Blessings.
