My experience is that if you are spotting and not pregnant you have the wrong strength pills. Low dose pills are bad at causing spotting and also the triphasic pills. If you have had spotting with these. I suggest you ask your MD to let you try Ortho Novum 10/11. It is a biphasic pill and I never spotted. no breakthrough bleeding with these at all. Also for anyone that wants to shorten their cycle or reduce heavy bleeding-take 1 cayenne pepper capsule 3 times a day with food

I'm 20 and I've been on my birth control (nuva ring) for about 6 months and up until a month ago i loved it for a little over a month now I have been having brown spotting I'm not sure why. I've considered calling my doctor but thought it might be from haveing a short period the month before but its been over a month now and i wondered if anyone has any suggestions.
Hey! I'm on Birth Control and have been for 5 years. I'm 21, and I have spotting between my periods as well. It's perfectly normal!!! Birth control causes you to spot and if you miss a pill or take one at a different time it causes funny things to happen (ie spotting). It's ok to be worried but you shouldn't be. For me, the spotting happens because I'm on Ortho Lo, when I used to be on just Ortho Tricylen, but even then I spotted and it was normal according to my Dr. So you're fine!
i've been on bc for like 2 years... and im still spotting now!!... its just very disturbing I dont really get why it's happening?? If I was preg I think it would only be like a day of spotting but im not sure?? I'm supposed to get my period next week so i was going to try to take one of the home preg tests this weekend when it's 5 days before my expected period... could that be what it is?
Are you just starting your pills? I had spotting with bc pills and it would last for days like that. It was because it was a low dose pill. Check back with your doc after you finish and get tested for possible STD's also just to be sure. But most likely it's your bc pills causing the spotting.
