what are considered 'normal' progesterone levels?

Just got back my blood work today - hcg 162 / progesterone 17.  After reading some other posts I am noticing that many people with progesterone levels under 20 get supplements.  I am not getting more bloodwork until next Monday & I am not seeing my doctor until a week from Thursday.  If I wait am I at risk for losing this baby???  Should I call him and ask to be put on progesterone supplements?  I've already had one chemical pregnancy - can't deal with losing another!

Progesterone levels vary wildly.  You could have the level drawn 4 times on the same day and get 4 different numbers.  I wouldn't worry unless your doctor is worried.  People put way too much stock in minor variations of progesterone levels.

Hi Sally,

My progesterone number at 14dpo was 17 also. I was worried too, but I am 18 weeks pregnant now.  Maybe call your Dr and ask?
