what are my chances of having twins?

i am 8 weeks pregnant. i go for my first appointment on monday but i was just wondering about the chance of me having twins. on my side of the family my mother has twin cousins. on my fiances side of the family he has twin cousins. i have gained 7 ponds already and i have been eating fairly decent.

I heard twins skips a generation. So if your mom or dad was a twin (or their siblings or first cousins) then you have a good chance to have twins. If you ARE a twin, you are more likely to have grand kids that are twins.

you dont really have high chance..you have a chance because there are twins in your family..however...that doesnt mean your going to have twins...i was a twin. i did not have twins. there are twins on my mothers side...like cousins...and there are no other twins out of all the children that were born

so yes you have twins on your mothers side but that doesnt give you a high rate of having twins....age comes into play. the older you are the high your chances are
