I love the ring personally... I was bad about the pill plus they gave me terrible mood swings.. I no side effects w/the ring.  Put it in for 3 weeks, remove for 1.  Everyone has a personal preference!  Just depends =)

I think every type of birth control has some type of draw back (except abstinence of course), the question for you is what type of birth control method works best for you.  Some studies have shown any increased amount of estrogen in your body can increase your chances of breast cancer in the future, but it's not substantiated yet.  Most types of bc increase your estrogen level in some way, pill, ring, patch, IUD, the shot, what have you they all change your hormone level but they all have their perks.  If you don't mind taking a pill every night, you can find a low-dose bcp which has the lowest amount of estrogen in it.  The ring, patch, IUD, and shot all have the advantages of convenience of which you only have to change once a month or 3-4 times a year but they do have higher amounts of estrogen.  Some of the best bc that won't change you internally are condoms, diaphrams, sponges, cervical caps, and other barrier methods, but these have a lower effectiveness rate than hormonal.  You might just have to right out the pros and cons of each and weigh them out.  Everyone has different needs, that's why we have so many options out there.  Good luck!

I took the patch for you two years and started getting migraines during that time, since off the patch no more migraines. The patch is not the safest birth control method since you have 60% more estrogen in your blood stream than other methods.  I switched to the ring, since I as well can not remember everyday.  It's so easy once a month and do not feel it while it is in.  My boyfriend has never noticed it either.  You can also take it out for up to 3 hours if you want to.
