why cant they see a baby?

I have 2 living children perfect pregnancies with both. I do however have history of ectopic pregnancy!! In 2007 I had my right tube rupture putting me in the hospital and nearly dead. I was told I could never have children again because my internal damage was too bad. Then in 2008 had my son!!!!! Now I have been using protection but for some reason felt pregnant took a at home and it was positive, 2 doctors now positive!! With my history my ob sent me in for ultrasound had a transvaginal and nothing.... No sac no baby nothing.. Of course I cried, now i am on a 2 week waiting spell again. My last actual period was april 29, 2010 what are the chances that it was just too early??? I have hurt some but nothing unbearable.. I did spot and have some discharge around the same time I would have had my period and was told that was normal.. Does anyone have any advice any hopes? Please I need someone to talk too.

I think it's way too early to see anything on an ultrasound. Your only around 4 or 5 weeks and generally you cannot see anything until about 6+ weeks. Your doctor is a jerk. Just because your 200 lbs, they still have to treat you...unless they marked you as high risk and transfer you to a high risk obgyn...then I understand. You have to get your levels checked (HCG) and go from there. If you have anything above 5 then your pregnant, and because with your history they will check your levels a couple of times to make sure they are doubling. And don't listen to your friend....how the heck would she know whats going on?

Just wait for your bloodwork and go from there.

With my size being close to 200 my doctor doesnt want to be my doctor.. Too Risky!!! A real jerk in my opinion... They just started checking my levels and are sendin me across town to another ob thursday. I am extremely scared that its ectopic or something like one before... I was huting but only like period cramps and only for a few days like my period now nothing no spotting or anything! I hope I get some answers I cant even sleep at night! Oh yeah, I almost forgot she actually looked at me and said we have your results from ultrasound are you sure your pregnant and not thinking you are, according to this picture your not even pregnant! What the h***???? Really glad i see a new ob thursday!

Thank you though for your reply

It's too early to see anything on ultrasound if your last period began only a month ago.  I can't believe two doctors would not have told you that.  What are your hCG levels doing?
