worried about pregnancy

I am going on 3 weeks late.  I have normally regular periods.  I have only been late when i have been pregnant (2 previous pregnancies) My cycles are usually 26-28 days.  After 1 day late, i took a hpt and it turned out negative, a few days later i took another one, and it was also negative, i have taken 10 hpt and all have been negative, I went to my family physician and they did a blood test and it was negative, so i told them i still hadn't started, they did another test a week later and it came back negative.  So i don't know if i could still possibly be pregnant? and If im not, what are the chances i would still ovulate after the missed period? and what do i need to expect in the upcoming weeks, since i don't know when i will be starting or if i will?  My family dr said that i am just playing a waiting game now.  so i don't know what my next step is...should i go behind my drs back and go to my ob/gyn, or just trust those pregnancy tests and just wait until i start?  I am just a little confused..

hay, if you read my last few posts, thats exactly step by step my problem too. but the only difference is that after i did what you did, i also did a pap smear and now i found out yesterday that my results were abnormal and i gotta go in for testing. go on and do a pap smear. i am not saying its the same thing, but just to be on the safe side. i dont think your pregnant. i had done a billioon hpts and two negative blood tests . so i know what yorue thinking. let me know how it went. good luck. are you stresing? maybe its just stress.

i would say you're not pregnant if you've had that many negative tests and an hpt would certainly be accurate by now if you're 3 days late.  maybe you should still go to your ob/gyn..not for another test, but to find out what's going on.  Also, your ob/gyn can give you more info on when you will ovulate, etc.  lots of things can make your period late...but go to your ob/gyn...i don't think it's going behind your doctor's back :)  i'm actually surprised your doctor didn't refer you to your ob/gyn.  good luck
