I am loosing weight and I was wondering if I really have to worry about the hanging skin I see on tv shows. When I started I was at almost 260 now I am at 246. I noticed that my tummy has two rolls and the bottom one is large and now it is starting to get soft. I want to get down to about 140 lbs which I am hoping is a size 12 thats normalNormal saline flush. I was wondering if I am going to have the hanging skin? I am 24 years old not sure if you need to know that to help answer my question or not. I have been over weight all my life but this is the biggest so I guess I am asking if I am worried for a reason or just worring to worry. please let me know what you think.
I think it all depends on your skin's elaticity. When I was 20 (I'm 26 now) I decided I was not going to be fat anymore. I'm 5'10 and then I weighed 230. I went down to 175, which looked great on me for my height. That put me in size 12/14. And my stomach wasn't hard as a rock, but it wasn't flabby and I didn't have to worry about tucking the extraExtra strength mylanta calci tabs Extra strength pain relief skin somewhere. But, I really do think everyone is different and you just have to try it and see.
I think 140 is more like an 8/10. Good luck, I know its is so hard to lose weight. I am currently trying to lose a few (or 30)too, I have NO willpower!
I have a 5'3" friend who lost 130 pounds. the only plac she has loose skin is her tummy. It is not awful, she would like to have a tummy tuckTucks hc so she can wear a bikini. She was 33 when she lost all the weight.
It also has alot to do with how fast you got big and how long you stayed there. The faster you got there the more damage you did to your skin, and the longer you stayed there the more 'big memoryMemory loss Mental status tests' your skin has. Good luck with everything.
Your age is important - you have a better chance of not having "loose skin" than if you were older (and therefore, your skin had spent more time being stretched).
The important thing is to lose weight at a sensible pace to allow your body to adjust gradually and avoid majorMajor tears Major-gesic stretchmarks which can happen from sudden weight loss/gain.
First off, congratulations on changing your lifestyle!! It can be a tough road, but stick with it and the results will far outweigh it.
Just my 2 cents....when I was 19, I went from 320 to 155 in 10 months. It was at one of those weight loss centers, and they had me on 700 calories a day with 2 protein supplements. Because of the low calorie intake, they did not want me to exercise. I was left with saggy belly skin, but my arms and legs seemed fine. After the diet was over, I started exercising on a regularRegular insulin basis, but it didn't help the skin on my belly. Where's it gonna go??? Now, 20 years later, I've noticed that my arms and legs are starting to be a little saggy - which I suppose is normal given age/gravity. But it's moreso than the "average" person. In your case, like the other posters have said, it's going to depend on your age and your build. More than likely, you'll have some extra skin on your belly - but who cares??? You're going to be much healthier in the long run, and you can always have a tummy tuck if you desire.
Good luck to you!!! You're doing great!!
