i just had a pretty bad yeast infection. i didnt have the inflammation tho so i'd definitely go to a doctor just to check. that could have gotten rid of itching but not necessarily the infection. I know i always take diflucan or another 1 dose pill and that always works better then creams or suppositories because it gets everything at once. good luck!!
the swelling has gone down a bit, but there is still some discharge. how long does it normally take for symptoms to go away? im just scared it for some reason may be linked to a pregnancy, std, or something else. i know i should see a doctor if the problem persists, im just trying to aviod that if possible. thanks for your help!
I had the swelling after trying to treat a yeast infection on my own, too. My doctor says it is an allergic reaction to the Monistat. Like I said the another person, my doctor gives me boric acid capsules to insert. They work quickly and are perfectly safe. Usually works in one night. No swelling afterwards, either.
Monistat is evil. Especially the 1 day dose. The high concentration of med is just asking for a reaction. Leave things alone. If the discharge is still abnormal after a week from when you used the med, see a doc. You may have to retreat with something else. The 1-day dose does not always clear up an infection. It usually takes the longer 7 day treatment.
