The above post is absolutely right. Naturopaths will also suggest treating your whole body for low level systemic Candidas if the above suggestions don't work. You would have to see a naturopathic doctor to get all the information, as I don't have all the information. Conventional doctors don't believe people can have a low level systemic Candidas infection and present with symptoms. Natural medicine disagrees.
Natural medicine approaches the issue by getting to the source of the problem. My friends husband had systemic Candidas and their naturopath had him on a restrictive diet to starve the yeast. He hated it, but the diet worked. There are herbs that can be used, too, but they really won't be effective without the right diet involved.
This is the only issue my conventional doctor has ever disagreed with my naturopath on. On all other matters they both have approached everything with the Integrative approach and gave me identical information.
Anyway, this is another thing you can try if the above suggestions still don't resolve the issue. Actually, for me the above suggestions were enough when I had the problem with recurrent yeast infections years ago.
Dear, yeast is not something you "get", as you already have candida organisms in your vagina. What happens is an overgrowth of it due to imbalance between lactobacilli (the good bacteria) and the fungus. Warm, moist, by all rights, a woman's vagina should be yeast infected all the time, but it is not because the pH of a healthy vagina is more favorable to the good than the bad microbes. Acidophilus supplements or yoghurt (active culture, preferably plain flavoured) can help. I have heard about vaginal insertion of things like yoghurt, garlic cloves, etc, but I tried those and they don't work for me, so I reccommend just eating the yoghurt. Try it and see, but don't hesitate to go to your doctor if it doesn't clear up. Cranberry juice has great enzymes as well if your vulva is red, itchy, or burns when you pee. I keep some on hand just in case! Good luck - Ali
