All the medical journals I've read indicate that no one really knows what it is.
It seems that most people, including me, were diagnosed after other conditions - including cancer - were ruled out.
Maybe that's why the treatments don't always work - no one really knows what they're treating.
I will ask my Doctor again...I had blood test done last week and they don't show I have an autoimmune disease..isn't that weird?
That's interesting.
I saw my doctor this morning and she said that there is definitely small but steady improvement.
Initially the lump was about 7cm, and very hard. But now the lump feels deeper and the tissue on top of it has softened. There's also a dent where I had the second biopsy.
So it possibly is getting better - at least not getting worse!
I wonder if all the sterile pus that comes out has something to do with the shrinking. Today's results show that it's still sterile pus, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the immune response.
I'm seeing the breast specialist again in early August, so will ask him.
I have that!
It is smaller than the "normal" breast.
I am not taking any medication either.
Do you think it means it is getting better? A doctor explained to me that wherever we had an abscess tissue becomes fibrous and this is why tissue shrinks.
Hope this helps!
