Here's my story, any feedback???

I know this is lengthy but if you wouldn't mind reading and responding I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Hello all!! I am "somewhat" new to this forum.  Reason being, I have been reading your posts for months but have finally decided to join and share my story.  Well, to my knowledge, all of these symptoms started late summer 2011.  I began to notice that day to day I was not feeling well at all.  I became nervous because I did not know what was wrong.  I've seen the phrase used, "I feel like I'm dying" and honestly that is the way I felt.  If I can recall, I've had certain signs in my body for a few years that has lead up to being this discovery of low vitaman d.  However, they seem to have really began to affect my body tremendously these past 7 months.  Not sure if it had anything to do with my grandmother passing away, stress with having to move and just dealing with life in general.  I also have a 16 month old daughter and husband that are a handful also.  Anyway, I began going to the doctor, and I felt kind of crazy because they would ask what is wrong, and I wanted to say everything!!! My head hurt, my back hurt, my chest hurt, my shoulder blades were in pain, my stomach hurt, just pain throughout my entire body.  Of course my primary doc, wanted to say anxiety and prescribed meds but in the back of my mind I knew something was up.  This started to affect my personal life because I felt like any small thing in my body meant something was wrong, and I began to google everything!! I've told myself I have everything from a brain tumor, to signs of a stroke, to cancer, and the list goes on and on!! Finally I was referred to an internal specialist, who ran bloodwork and FINALLY informed me that I had a vitamin D level of 8 and the norm should be 30!!! I could not believe it!! They prescribed me meds which was 50,000 IU once a week, but in the back of my mind I wondered why was this the case.  What would cause such a low number??? Of course this doc just wanted to give me meds and be done.  But I still wanted more answers, because my body is not normal!!!  So online it was suggested to see an endocrinologist, which I have recently done an found out that my calcium level as well as my magnesium level are low.  So now, I am taking 50,000 IU twice a week, 250 mg of magnesium once a day, and Citracel (Calcium citrate +D3) three times a day.  I just began taking this dosage last week, but I am really nervous and wondering if there is anything else possibly wrong with me.  I'm not convince that low vitaman D could cause me to feel the way I do.  My weight is fluctuating, I lost about 15-20 pds total, not it seems to go up and down.  I found a lymph node under my chin which leads me to think lymphoma but the doc thinks it's something small.  I have been referred to an ENT for this.  I have also hand an upper and lower GI which came back fine, and the bloodwork that the internal medicine completed was normal (consisted of ANA and some others).  Honestly, I just really want to go back to feeling normal!! Is there any hope??? Please respond!! Thanks!!

I am also going through all of the horrible symptoms of vdd.2 years ago went through so many tests , and am so grateful was tested for vit d. By the time they found it I could barely hold a cup of tea. Was put on 50000 week dose for 3 months an started feeling better. Dr took me off of it during warmer months because he said I would get vit d through sun exposure. Well the last month has been awful. Ive been to er a surgeon my dr almost weekly trying figure out whats going on with my body again. I asked him to please test my vit d levels and he said it wouldnt be that. I bought otc 1000 iu day d3 and started them month ago. I am so dizzy an tired. Taking a shower wears me out. Its affecting my vision which it did before. I go back to my pc tomorrow and gonna demand my levels tested. Ive drove myself and family crazy with worry. Ive had ultasounds, ct pelvic, colonoscopy, gallbladder ultrasound, appendix ct. They was all fine.  I live in ne its been long winter an no sun. Im very aggravated with myself that I wasnt more proactive and stayed on vit d regimen but listened to doc an felt better so thought was all ok. I just wana feel better so bad. Cant go to grocery or nothing withoutdizzyness so bad I feel like gonna pass out. Just needed to share.

Hi everyone. I am 26 and I experience a range of these symptoms myself. I am deficient in vitamin D, B12 and iron. I strongly suggest getting tested for B12 as many symptoms are similar to vitamin D deficiency. Along with these deficiencies I have tummy troubles and after a colonoscopy and endoscopy I found out I had an intolerance to lactose, malt and sugar. The sad part is I don't know what is causing all of these problems! I am a very slim girl and I eat pretty well but I do not exercise regularly due to muscle pains and fatigue etc I get from my deficiencies. It's a vicious cycle with no real answers and I hope you all find answers to your health problems.

I found out I was low in June 2013 . My level was a 19 but it sure is wreaking havoc on my body . My level was tested again about 2 months ago and I was up to 41.  I am becoming a hypercondriac !  My body feels like it is pulsing  or my veins fluttering . Anyone had that symptom ? Now my legs or veins hurt in my legs . Can't decide if that is muscle or veins . This is soooo frustrating and I have to keep telling myself I  getting better .

Glad to hear that I am not alone, but not glad that we are both feeling this way!! I am 27 years old and can't possibly imagine that this is what low vitman d does to one's body!! absolutely insane!! however I am going to continue to take the vitamins and go with the doctor's orders and prayerfully things will get better!! Last night I woke up hardly able to breath and chest pain not sure if it had anything to do with me eating some hot food late, because I did have a small case of reflux which the doctor saw during my endoscopy, or the low vitiman d!  But of course I woke up googling and the first thing I saw was heart failure! I've had numerous EKG's, wore a halter monitor for 48 hrs and plenty other tests and they check out fine! I just am so ready to feel normal again. At least we can encourage one another with these posts! Keep me updated with your progress also and thanks for the reply!!

HI there,

I could have posted this whole post myself and my symptoms are exactly like yours. I am almost 35 year old female with a 2.5 year old son. My symptoms began about 1.5 months after i weaned my son after breast feeding him for 2 years. I did not know that i was suposed to take vit d supplemts while nursing hima nd combined with the fact that i like in the northwest and no sun, my vit d levels were at a 6! I have been put on 50,000iu vit d supplemts for about 12 weeks now and i still haven't noticed much of a change. My pain has barely improved but i have heard that it can take any where from 3 - 12 months for the pain to go away. It is scary to live with this everyday. I totally understand what you mean.
