slowing Heart rate

by tommy 2 tone, May 16, 2007 12:00AM
I am a 57yo male with sleep apnea, and have been neglecting wearing my cpap machine at noc for a few months, until recently I was told by my Dr. I need to start wearing it again, because I have moderate pulmanary hypertension. I started wearing it again and I'm having difficulty getting use to it,but I wear it,I have noticed that since I started wearing it my heart rate has dropped when I sleep to high 40's,and even during the day it runs in mid to high 50's,I am just wondering if this is normal,my heart rate before was always in the 70's,or low 80's.

Hi, I don't know if that is normal or not, you might check with your doctor.  I'm just writing because my husband uses a C-PAP, too - he also has sleep apnea and it has really helped him to feel a lot better and sleep well at night.  Getting used to it is worth it!
