canstant ringing in my ears.

for the last few months i've been having a constant ringing in my ears. recently it has been getting louder and louder to the point that i can't hear when it happens and there starting to last longer. what does this mean? and what can i do to get rid of it?

It's called tinnitus, google it. In many cases its permanent (depends on cause).   I have had a dialtone in my head for 20 years (never worked for AT&T ;)
