hello - three days ago, i started to get hives and rash pretty much all over.  not at once but it has affected my scalp, neck, palms of hands, arms, genitals, stomach ....right now all under one armpit and my arms.  face appears swollen.
prior to this i did have a swollen left knee from behind.  i exercise so no biggy but maybe this piece is important???
i have been having horrible indigestion too.  food allergy?  i can't think of anything i ate that was out of the ordinary.
i did drink wine and a new brand.  frozen broccoli from mexico and salmon.  salmon never bothered me before.  i am allergic to oysters.  i am trying to keep this brief but all info. could play a part in this mystery.  back to the knee, i never had knee problems until i took avalox for sinus issues.  i complained on the tenth day (last pill) that my knee felt funny and they told me to immediately get off of the drug (duh!).  avalox is noted for tendon ruptures and tears.
ok with all of that in mind - i just want to know if all these other people ever used avalox.  if you google avalox and start to search lots of people have horrible experiences being on this drug and years after!!!!!  there are other drugs that are in the same family as avalox also.
scattered information but need you to know i am sane:) but going insane with these hives.

Hi
Since you are having these bouts again and again, and so long after you consumed wine and salmon, and is also accompanied by rash, it could either be a viral pathology or due to Crohn’s disease too.
No please do not wait it out and consult a doctor. Take care!

i woke up with the indigestion again...five days later since first bout???  had  stomach cramps and had to visit the bathroom a few times this morning if you are following me.  i am modest:)  the hives/rash is flaring up mostly on my back and under my arms today.  today is a saturday and i plan on seeing a doctor on monday if you think i should.  feel like they aren't going to do much for me.  i get relief when i take antihistamines.  do you think i should wait it out?  how long would a reaction to wine, salmon or whatever take?  i hope i am not allergic to these two favorites of mine!!!  thanks for taking the time to answer me.  i truly appreciate it.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Urticaria is usually triggered by allergens, such as drugs, foods, insect bites, inhaled substances, in response to sunlight, cold, heat, stress, exercise, or a viral infection. Other common allergens are pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, or cosmetics.
In your case it could be the wine. If you had red wine, and if you are allergic to sulfites, then this could have triggered the hives. It could also have been the salmon—even though it has never bothered you before, it can start bothering you at any time in your life—what I mean to say that you can become allergic to anything , any time, even if you were not allergic to it earlier.
Please consult an allergy specialist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
