Hello,
Tinea versicolor may itchy sometimes and so topical antifungal treatment is very effective. You can apply Selsun shampoo which is found to have an effect in treating tinea versicolor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.

Thanx I too thought it may be tinea versicolor as well, i did a lil research and it seem to fit what I thought it may be, sometimes in tight tee shirts it is a lil itchy, does that mean it could be something else other than tinea? & I wrote down a few of the over the counter products to go look for. I'll definitely keep you posted.

Hello,
Since these dark patches are not itchy, so an important possibility is of tinea versicolor. It is a common skin infection caused by the yeast Malassezia furfur. This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates.

Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines. Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. Selsun shampoo should help. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
