Chest pain after stent

by H146, Jun 08, 2007 12:00AM
Hello, I am wondering if anyone has the same symptoms as these and may be able to help with diagnosis.  My friend had an angioplasty and a stent inserted for a blocked artery about 6 months ago now.  The severe chest pain has gone but the patient still has chronic chest pain, worse after eating and exercising.  He is suffering from a lot of burping which he says relives the pain temporarily.  He is convinced that he is suffering from not enough stomach acid (self diagnosis possibly due to fear of facing up to the fact it could be his heart) and is therefore taking lots of acid pills which he claims are helping a lot.

Has anyone else experienced these gas and chest pain symptoms and found out what it might be?  Has anyone had continuing chest pain after a stent and been advised by the doctor what this is?

Thank you for your help.

My husband Rick had a medicated stint inserted Nov. 23rd, 2007 and the first thing he said to me when I visited him in the CCU was he felt a new and different chest pain.

I called the nurse and she said that it could be streatching of the artery.  This has not gone away and at times is a seven out of ten on a pain scale.

Doctors do not know what is causing the pain at this point.  We are very concerned and baffeled.  Can anyone help us figure this out?

I have had 5 stents, 4 heart attacks and a triple bypass and ever since my first MI and stent I have felt chest pains and as my history shows any chest pain is bad chest pain. I am still trying to convince the doctors that something is still wrong. I take imdur on a daily basis to try control the pain and still have to use nitro-quick tabs along with it. Be persistant with your medical care and if the doctors don't listen to you find 1 that will. If you would like to discuss this any further feel free to contact me.
