Head to toe Unbearable tingles, numbness Heavyness

by countryrose, Sep 29, 2006 12:00AM
Hi, I have been suffering heavyness in the head and body with unbearable tingling and numb crawling sensations in back of head shoulders, arms and legs...When it hits full force, I am unable to get up, walk or sit or lie for too long..have to keep turning and changing. I lose all power in legs or arms when it happens. Question, my nuero today said he can't figure it out as all my neurological tests come back norm except for mild disc protrusion in c5-c7. They are seeing another paitent with similar symptoms who they also can't diagnos...Where should I go from here? Does anyone know what similar symptoms were caused by? I was disappointed with his answer, but he thinks of sending my to a physiatrist next..Any help appreciated.

Hi, thank you for responding. I am being checked for everything under the sun, and am told by the neuro that fibromyalgia will be considered once everything else is ruled out, so it is an exculusionary diagnosis when given. I have a work injury that is myofascial pain syndrome, and have had TMJ surgery 15 years ago, so I don't know if that is where the heavy head symptoms occur. Tell me what did they give you for the fibromyalgia that has made you feel better? The only meds I take are zantac and naproxen (for 3 years), an elevated sed rate and low iron.

Hope you keep on getting better!
