What do I do with a child who has separation anxiety?

I have a 4 1/2 year old daughter who is going through extreme separation anxiety.  She follows me around the house and if I go anywhere she cries and wants to come with me.  She wakes up in the night crying for me and when she hears me get up in the morning, she rushes out of the bed to be with me.  I cannot leave her sight for a second.  This has been going on for about 5 mos. and I'm pretty fried!  Any suggestions?   Thanks.

My 4  1/2 year old is just now running out of her ballet class saying that she "wants me". She wants to be glued to my side! I am so tired of it. She did so well last year in her ballet class when she was 3 - all year long! and just this year is crying for me to be with her. I need some advice please. I yelled at her all the way home from ballet today and feel so bad about it.
