On Savella ws told I can't take Antidpressants!!!
I've had arthrisis & spurs since I ws 31.I'm goin on 49..Got off Percs..4 months ago..I also have Hep -C, been living w extreme body pain..I'm familair w my pains..Not this..Doc told me I had fibro...the sights -effects were more than I expected..from Saella, so far, well worth it..Lyricia Wsnt working..My concern is, I cant not take any Antidepressants..my options were Body Pain/or Mental..now w my Mother Ailing w Last Stages of Alziheimers...w My Downs & Highs..for Months..Can't take Depoke nor Lithuim beacuse of my Soduim!!! :(

Many issues I'm dealing w right now, is really taking it's toll on me..As for my shrink, I'm lucky if she looks @ me..Gives me whatever..sends me on my way...Is there Anyone who can Help me!! I tried Cymbalta is ws wonderful! but got a Allergic reaction!!! I hve Medicaid/hmo...No private shrinks...

Thank You for your Response, Actually I am On Savella Over a Month.
(My Primary Dr Gave me Savella). Let's Start with the Prozac First. shrink gave me Prozac 10 mg..I didn't take them because my Mother was Ailing from Alzimiers/Parkisin We lost her Last Tues, I didn't want to take the Prozac I needed to take care of my Mom & I wanted to Feel..Not be numb when my Mom's time comes..I'm afraid to mix also....any meds...My experience w Cymbalta ws wonderful, I had an horriffic allergic reaction..but it was Wonderful! I was completely manic! @ least I wasnt in the dark...Right now I am so confused..Everything is such a mission for me..I cannot read a book nor focus...Now w My Mother I'm terrified to end up in the Hospital...Shrinks say it's hard to Level me cuz of my high sodium...
Dusty I'm pretty much I'm on own for some time..I have more help in this forum than any doctor!
Savella sight effects were doing a huge number on me..but I kept it going ..I could'nt take this new strange pain.Fibro.I'm wondering if I should call my pharmacist ask if I should gt on prozac on now...I'm on xanax.because.I become very aggressive & even More Anger Issues.&.Paranoid..I was the Life of the Party w/out drinking..now I'm like a dog stuck in a kettle cage..
Guess what you did for me today Dusty? I'm taking that step..taking the prozac..after Monday...I know it's gonna get worse w my Mom..& other issues..So thank you..I will keep you posted..Have a Wonderful Weekend Friend~~~*

So am I right to understand that you are NOT taking Savella now? There are different kinds of anti-depressants I would think that one of them would work with your system. It seems like from what I am hearing you say that the SNRI's give you problems. Could they be inducing mania? Could you try a SSRI instead? Something like Prozac? I take a very low dose of Prozac (10mg) and couple it with a couple other different meds for my Fibro. I take Topamax and Soma as well for pain and migraines. It seems to be a good combo. You may be able to handle the Prozac since it only affects the serotonin, or something similar to it (a SSRI) if you have trouble with the SNRIs like Cymbalta, Savella or Effexor. I would talk to your doctor and see what he/she thinks. Good luck.
