Brain tumor.....Pineal gland tumor

This is a long story but will keep it short.  My husband is 42 and has been undergoing testing for months for symptoms.  At the begining it was nausea and weight loss.  Durring this circus of testing they found a large calcification within his pineal gland.  A pet scan hit on this as a hot spot so mri with and without contrast confirmed.  Mri showed alot of sinus issues and possible "mass" so they focused on it.  Sinus specialist agreed not the cause.  He saw a neurosurgeon before who thought the sinus dr would "get to the bottom" of this.  I think she was so focused on how bad his sinus's were that the real issue is the brain.  She did the neuro check and he's rescheduled for Feb.  In the past few months he's experiencing new symptoms.  Vertigo, headache's confussion moody.  He'll be standing and fall over if he looks up to fast.  This I just found out today when he did it talking to me.  I am taller than he is and he looked up and hit the ground.  Was confussed for some time.  Pet scan stated that a pineal gland tumor could give this impression.  I think he needs to go to the ER today even though it is Thanksgiving.  Shouldnt he get checked for hydrocephilous (sp)?  I think this has been the cause all along.

Do you have a primary care DR. thats would refer him to a neurologist , or have you seen one already. MY MRI scans also, said thickening of the left sinus. I am having spells too but haven;t fallen yet. Yes if you feel that he needs to go to ER take him. That is nothing to fool w.MY MRI stated  a mass too, but its unknown and spots are nonspecific on MRI scan. But i continue to falter. I am going for lumbar soon. I am so sorry to hear of your troubles. I am not a DR and cannot say too much ,as i don't know any definitive answers , but try to respond to people in crisis. Take good care < Kit in Pa

Thank you for taking time to respond.  Yes my husband does have a neurologist.  Actually she's a neurosurgeon and reported to be one of the best "skull base" surgeon in the US.  He's only seen her once but at the time he hadn't seen the Otolaryngologist that specialized in sinus disease yet to rule out sinus cancer.  His sinus's looked so bad on the mri that they were sure that a mass was causing it but after alot more testing it was ruled out also.   The neurosurgeon did schedule a follow up appt/mri/ct scan in Feb so she felt it serious enough to watch and not just refer to neurology and not monitor it herself.  She did say if things changed to call before the 6 month appt and they would get him in sooner.  I tried doing that already and the office is closed.  I will do that first thing Monday morning.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems your experiencing.  This last yr of test and dr's has taught me you have to take charge of you health.
